Double door sets and old metal windows were replaced under a major contract carried out by West Leigh as part of the refurbishment of a north London primary school.
West Leigh utilised the well-proven W20 frame members to fabricate a selection of top hung vents, with those installed at higher level utilising Teleflex gearing for remote operation. The new double doors were all fitted with panic bars to ensure safe emergency egress. All of the 16 mm insulating glass units featured a 4 mm soft coat low-E inner leaf with a Krypton gas fill, in order to meet the current standards of Part L of the Building Regulations. All of the W20 frames were hot-dip galvanized and finished with a RAL 9920 polyester powder coat in white semi-gloss.
West Leigh W20 range is up to 16mm and can comply with the Part L (England & Wales) building requirements. Elaborate composite windows are fashioned using mullions and transoms to join single units together and tubular steel RHS profiles can be added for strength or as a feature.
A whole range of quality ironmongery including pressed metal sills, flashings and metal faced insulated infil panel can be fitted to the basic panel. All W20 profiles, including any steel attachments. are hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 (1999) and, where specified, polyester powder coated to BS6497 to a wide range of standard RAL colours.
