New thermally broken steel windows with an insulated spacer/break in the steel frame are approximately 50% better insulated than traditional non-thermally broken steel windows, where the steel frame is continuous from the inside to the outside of the window and are comparable to the insulating value of wood windows.
3. Although approximately two to three times more expensive than a wood window, steel windows have amazing versatility, and can be successfully placed in nearly any design, from contemporary to traditional.
